About Me

 

I am Beth Hutchason, a nurse practitioner and nonfiction editor. I left bedside care in 2021 to pursue a career in the world of words. I have obtained an editing certificate from the University of Washington and edit a variety of  content across platforms. I live in Poulsbo, Washington, with my husband, two spoiled dogs, about a dozen fish, and tens of thousands of bees.

Manuscript Evaluations and Developmental Editing

A high-level review of manuscripts to assess structure, theme(s), logic, story arc, etc. This is the first step in the editing process.

Copyediting

A complete review to correct grammar, punctuation, and word choice and remedy awkward wording, flow, and transitions.

Proofreading

Typically, the final review of a written or digital product to look for obvious errors after copyediting is complete.

Medical Authenticity

Review of all or part of a manuscript for the accuracy and authenticity of healthcare-related content, scenes, or characters.
